If a character symbol lands on reel 1, any connecting full reels become multipliers for that symbol. Each full reel becomes a multiplier starting with 5x that increments for each subsequent full reel, up to 8x. So, it's possible to get a 5x-6x-7x-8x setup which is a 1,680x multiplier! However, the pays aren't that big to begin with. Most character symbols pay 14 credits for 5 at min bet and the top symbol pays 18 credits. So, a huge multiplier doesn't necessarily translate to a massive win. The 3 bonuses are the the Duncan bonus, the Ornithopter bonus and the Sandworm bonus.
