The Lock It Link brand of slot machines by Light & Wonder I feel was originally designed as an answer to Aristocrat's wildly popular "Lightning Link" games where different themes build around a uniform "locking" feature. In Lock It Link, this feature is called the "Lock It Feature" and is initiated by landing between 3 and 5 heart symbols on a single row. These symbols can either have a credit award up to 100x your total bet or a Progressive, although the most valuable Progressives will appear only on reel 3. During this feature you start with 3, 4 or 5 spins depending on how many hearts you initially landed: the individual reel positions then spin allowing for more hearts to land and if they do they become sticky for the remainder of the bonus. If they land adjacent to at least two other hearts, they become "locked" and your spins are reset to their starting number. This continues until you don't land bonus symbols adjacent to at least two other bonus symbols or you Fill the Screen, at which point 100x your bet multiplier is added to each heart. After each "lock" that occurs where your spins reset, the value of each heart also increases by your total bet, so ideally, you'd just land one heart on each spin adjacent to your initial locking set, for maximum return.
