In the base game, four or more scattered fireballs trigger the Fire Link Feature. Before a spin begins, some fireballs may be replaced by Portal symbols. When a Portal lands, that position respins using a different Reel Set and can produce as many as four fireballs. Scattered Dragon Wheel symbols on reels 2–4 can also trigger the Wheel Feature, with three symbols guaranteeing a wheel spin and one or two potentially triggering it. The Fire Link Feature begins with three spins on an eight-row grid, although only the bottom four rows are initially active. Fireballs lock in place, award their displayed Credit Prizes, and reset the spin count to three when they land on an active row. As more fireballs are collected, additional rows become active: eight fireballs open the fifth row, 12 open the sixth, 16 open the seventh, and 20 open all eight rows. A Dragon Wheel symbol can also appear on the top row, and collecting it while that row is active awards another Wheel Feature. The wheel can award the MINI, MINOR, MAJOR, or MEGA, along with the regular Fire Link Feature, Fire Link Re-Trigger Chance, Fire Link Extra Spins, Fire Link Head Start, Portal, or Free Games. The Re-Trigger Chance places a special symbol on the top row that can trigger another Fire Link Feature. Extra Spins can rescue the Bonus up to two times after the counter reaches zero, while Head Start begins the feature with eight to ten fireballs already placed across all eight rows.
