The casino floor was packed. Fans surrounded the machines. Security guards were already watching from a distance because the last Wheel Wednesday had ended with Brettski accidentally triggering a handpay so massive the machine overheated. Tonight’s challenge list was worse. $5,000 blackjack hand. Mystery slot machine chosen by strangers. Double every loss. And one terrifying option scribbled in red marker: **“Bet everything on one spin.”** The wheel slowed. Click. Click. Click.
